Keeping me honest....

So I have decided that when I remember, I will blog about my quest to actually be teamed and skate next season. In order to do that, I need to start now on my fitness level and endurance.

I've been using Lose It! on my ipod as a way to track my calories and exercise. Can I tell you that this app has faith that users will never eat something like a delicious raspberry zinger? Seriously. No Hostess products are listed anywhere. So overall I do ok but there are some days, like when I hit the Chipotle for lunch, where I intake enough calories for a long time in one sitting. Another issue I have is that I think I lose inches but not weight. Does that make sense? Could it be that I am all muscle? Probably not but you can tell that my body shape has changed since I started my half-assed run/walk program. My belly isn't so sticky outie and the comadres seem smaller. But that could just be me being hopeful.

I've increased my water intake from almost zero to about 50oz. Well yesterday anyway. WTF with the whole take your weight and devide by 2 to get how many ounces of water to drink everyday? Who thought that up? I swear you can hear water sloshing around my belly as I walk like a drunk but using only sober liquids. Maybe if I pretend like I am binge drinking it seem funner and I will get motivated. Although come to think of it, I'm not a very good binge drinker either. And while I refuse to tell you my weight (although I did lose 6 pounds since May), that's ALOT of f-ing water.

workin' on my fitness....

All this running from the Beginner's luck thing had better whip me into shape and make my hind parts rock hard. I mean it.

Last night, after practice, we went for a quick run and I swear I felt like I was drenched in sweat (hhmmmm pretty) only to discover that I wasn't really all that sweaty. Maybe it was the humidity last night that made me feel that way but I was kinda disappointed I wasn't all disgusting and smelly although after practice I had to peel my pads off and like all girls at practice, was feeling really ripe with the dreaded pad funk. Other than Febreeze, how can you wash your pads?

Speaking of practice, I'm hoping that this running will help with endurance on my skates too. I skated for a bit last night and decided that I have to skate balls out and stop being afraid of falling on my knee. Considering it's been 8 months, it's time to put my big girl panties on and commit to roller derby as a skater considering I have my trading cards and all....
